Farmers Training in Dehradun

A Five days specialised training in Agroforestry and Land Management for the farmers of Bihar was conducted by the Forest Research Institure (FRI).

The training was sponsored by the Bihar Forest Department, Where 30 Farmers from various districts like West Champaran, saharsa, Gaya, Shiwan of Bihar State participated. The training is part of the Hariyali Mission launched by Bihar Government to increase the forest cover of the state.

Dr PP Bhojvaid, director, FRI, Dehradun, inaugurated the training prigram, In his inaugural address, he emphasised that there is huge agroforestry pootential in the state . By taking agro forestry practices, the livelihoodand income of the families can be improved. The marketing of agroforestry by products is required and this training will also be helpful in providing marketing solutions to the farmers.

Jayshree Ardey, head of the extension division, presented the welcome address. She said that the participants would not only learn or improve their skills with the help of the subject experts but will also contribute significantly to the promotion of agroforestry in the state. Besides this, other training capsules will be conducted in the institure. The heads of various divisions and scientists were also present on the occasion.
