Hotel Management Institute to come up at Ramnagar


Dehradun, August 31, 2016 Union Tourism Minister Mahesh Sharma laid the foundation stone for a hotel management institute at Ramnagar in the Kumaon division through video conference today. The Minister was slated to reach Ramnagar but was forced to lay the foundation stone through video conferencing from Bijapur guest house, Dehradun, due to bad weather conditions at Ramnagar. Sharma said Uttarakhand and the Centre would work together to promote tourism in the state. He assured support for the state’s development initiatives. Chief Minister Harish Rawat said a bus station, along with a bypass road, were also being constructed in Ramnagar. The service sector was developing rapidly in the state and the hospitality sector was playing an important role in it. Referring to tourism, he said the state government was developing small circuits with integrated approach. The government was promoting aero sports and water sports in the state. Butterfly parks and bird parks were also being established, he added. Uttarakhand Tourism Minister Dinesh Dhanai and Secretary, Tourism, Shailesh Bagoli were present on the occasion.
