Sonia Joshi is an Indian artist, singer, poet and a government servant, who was born on 22nd August 1992 in the house of mother Mrs Madhu Joshi (House wife) and father Mr Harish Chandra Joshi (Retired from ITBP), in the village Ghaniyal Post Office Talwadi Chamoli, Uttarakhand.
Family
Along with her parents, there is also a younger sister and a younger brother in her family. Her family is a lower middle class. The family had to face many problems in the early days, but the parents did not leave any stone unturned in the upbringing and studies of their kids.
Education
She went to many schools due her father’s job posting from different places, when father was working in ITBP Matli, Uttarkashi, he studied up to class VIII in Matli Inter College and after that she studied 10th and 12th from Government Inter College Talwadi then B.SC from Government College Talwadi. After that she did B.Ed from Dehradun Shridev Suman College. From school time, she was fond of singing and writing poetry. But she started taking interest in music only after participating in cultural programs in school. She was always best in sports.
Also participated in Race and High Jump and always raised the value of her school or college, as she never learnt to give up.
Occupation
Sonia Joshi is currently working in Uttarakhand Police along with her duty, she is also managing to sing, write and perform so among her fans she is famous as a singer, poetess, lyricist actress, who has sung a lot of songs so far and manage to sings “Hindi, Garhwali, Songs in a very good way. At the same time, she tells that she learned a lot from her mother and because of her she continued to participate in her school and college programs as well.
Turning Point
As per Sonia she said “Everyone has their own dreams in life, but she always dreamt to help poor and raise their voice with her songs, poems and acting along with serving the society as police personnel. But she was not getting a way to do so and her the mind was not satisfied, there were many feelings in the mind, many evils spread in the society, the narrow feelings did not give rest to the mind, but if we could see all this during the uniform, then those feelings, thoughts were expressed in your poetry and your thoughts. She tried from time to time to keep in the society through songs, but those dreams were given true flight and support by my childhood friend Arvind Bhardwaj whom I met after a long time about 12 years while doing B.ed and came to know that he is is a singer, composer too, along with all he is a writer, and is working as a music teacher in school, I expressed my feelings to him, I was lucky that he could understand my feelings and for the first time I visited the studio to know the reality of music industry and learn some techniques too, I did all this while taking time out on duty. It is difficult to get but made it easy with the help of Arvind Bhardwaj and whenever she gets time while on duty, it is only being possible with his cooperation. Then I expressed my tension about the evils spread in the society like feticide, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao, to him. I have acted myself on many such songs, my songs have been greatly supported by the people, I got a recognition by singing the song “Teri Mitti”, which was liked by 4 million people in a day and 10 million people liked in a week, then people liked the song “Tu Kitna Achhi Hai”, which has been liked by 40 lakh people so far, also got a chance to work with Sonu Sood.
With an association with Hardik Films few projects are on the way to release soon

Sonia tells that this all happened possible due to the unconditional support of her family and her best friend Arvind Bharadwaj, which encourages her to do better. She wants to promote Uttarakhand music industry worldwide with her efforts.
Hobby
Sonia likes to play Badminton, sing and write songs and poems, as well as is fond of making different dishes in food and serving them to family and friends.
